Welcome to THE RIDGE
What sets us apart from a typical middle school?
EL 3 Dimensions of achievement –
- Mastery of Knowledge and Skills (Learning)
- High-Quality Work
- Consideration of adolescent development in the creation of the design of the school
We believe that when students and teachers are actively engaged in work that is meaningful, rigorous, and exciting then deeper learning and understanding will be achieved. We have designed our school based on the EL Education (formerly Expeditionary Learning) design principles.
The EL model radically reshapes the school and classroom to be a place of high-quality achievement for everyone and where students become active members in the community committed to building a better world. When students complete their studies at our school and enter adulthood and our communities, they will be valued not just for their ability to perform on standardized tests, but for the strength of their character and the quality of their work. This approach to education is focused on three dimensions of student achievement: mastery of knowledge and skills; character development; high-quality work.
